Is American culture ually reserved or ually open?

we are a bit ually uptight, particularly as you say compared to some european countries. in our case it is a religious morality initiated by the first settlers to this continent. and continued today by the religious right who seem to feel it their duty to suppress our innermost urges at their every waking moment.
