There is an owl outside my window, what does this mean?

I have been dating my boyfriend for about 4 months, and throughout the relationship we have tripped each other out with our abilities to constantly speak what the other is thinking unknowingly. I just recently moved back into my dad's house, and my bed is up against my bedroom window just because I have a hard time sleeping and I like to stare out the window at stars and stuff while I'm trying to fall asleep. I have had two encounters with this owl. Both times were the only times my boyfriend came over. It has a white face and belly, the belly has some gray in it though, and the wings and it's back are black and gray. It perches on a branch that hangs off of the palm tree that is directly outside my window, and it has it's back turned, but constantly looks back and stares at me. It's kinda creepy ha ha. Could this be symbolic of anything? I know that owls are usually supposed to be symbolic of something.
