After you eat protein, how do the amino acids get to your body cells?

Blood does not take the amino acids to the ribosomes; they have to be carried to the cells first. Amino acids are absorbed by the intestine, taken to the liver by the hepatic portal vein, deaminated if necessary, then taken by the blood (dissolved) to the cells.
