Going to alton towers with school but scared of rides..?

I am going to alton towers with my school and we have been before but we didnt get on many rides as the ques were pretty big. I dont mind waiting for rides but i am not a big fan of them. I have been on oblivion which i thought was amazing when i got off so that is not a problem, but all my friends wants to go on AIR. Im scared im going to like fly off the ride, even though i know that it is highly unlikely. Can anyone help me reason with my phobia?
