Jesus said, "I am the living bread which come down from heaven whoever eats this bread shall live forever and

I will raise him up on the last day" The jews argued among themselves saying how can this man give us his flesh to eat, this is a hard saying!!! But, Jesus said Amen Amen I say to you UNLESS you eat my flesh and drink my blood you cannot have life" Then the jews left who had previously followed Jesus and they walked with him no more. Why then do protestants today believe that Jesus was only talking symbolically, and if he was, why then did he not call his followers back and say I was only speaking in symbolism?
