Is my chicken still safe to eat??? Thawed too long + cooked over night.?
My bf took my 6 pieces of chicken breats out and let it sit to thaw at 11am.. he picked me up at airport in another city so we got back at 8-9pm.. and the chicken felt warm to touch. like room temp but maybe a little cooler. it was not cold tho. You can't refreeze meat so i decided to put it in crock pot, add hot water and cook on High for 6hrs, 30 minutes. And we both fell asleep while it cooked.. so i didn't get to put it in fridge in til 7am this morning, but it keeps the food on "warm" after its done.. but it wasn't that warm this morning and all the water boiled off. Help, is my food safe to eat I really would hate to have to throw it away?? but I dont want to get sick either. What should I do?? It thawed too long plus i didn't put it in fridge after it was done cooking. Help!? Has anyone ever done this before? or what would u do?
