Does propagation of light from a common point explain why expansion of Universe is faster than light speed?

I have no idea i'm here because someone told me there would be pie. I must say your question is a very good one but the only way you could really tell is to the the origin of the big bang and if i recall currently the furthest point in history we've been able to observe is a Gamma burts 13.035 billion years ago so we're not far off ^_^.
